Why is Autos Plaza Rent a Car able to offer such competitive rates?

We have been operating in Tenerife as a self-drive car hire company since 1985. We deal with our customers directly via the internet, which allows us to make important savings on costs. This means we can pass on our savings to our customers by providing highly competitive rates.

Does it cost the same to have the vehicle delivered to my hotel?

There’s no additional charge for delivery to hotels in Puerto de la Cruz. Please contact us for hotels in other areas or towns.

How can I pay for my car?

In cash or by credit card, whichever suits you best. We accept most major credit cards, with the exception of American Express.

How do I make my reservation over the phone?

Just call (+34) 922 37 35 37. We will gladly deal with your request from Monday to Friday from 9:00 - 13:00 and 16:00 - 20:00 (Canary Islands time). On Saturdays and Sundays please email us on autosplaza@teneriferentacar.com

Can I choose the vehicle model?

Our car hire system allows you to specify a preference for a certain model within the same group or category, although the final rental depends on the availability of the model when you actually make the reservation. If the model you request is not available it will be substituted for one within the same category. However, we will always try our best to satisfy your requirements.

How do I cancel a reservation?

Simply call us on (+34) 922 37 35 37 or send an email to autosplaza@teneriferentacar.com, indicating the booking reference number, at least 24 hours before the collection date.

Who can drive the vehicle?

The driver of the vehicle must be the person named as “Vehicle Driver” on our reservation forms, as this person will be held liable for the car. Otherwise, the driver is the person who made the reservation. The driver must present his/her driving licence on collection of the vehicle. A second driver is permitted, at no extra charge, as long as he/she provides his/her personal details, and presents his/her driving licence in our offices.

Why do I have to fit the car seats myself?

Booster seats, baby car seats, etc. must be fitted by the person hiring the vehicle. This is due to our insurance requirements, so that in the event of any incident resulting from incorrectly fitting any of these items, the company will not be held liable for any damage or harm caused.

Can I take the car off the island of Tenerife?

No, the insurance only covers you on the island of Tenerife.
